NDTV | #HandmadeDilSe: A Drive To Support Artisans During The COVID-19 Pandemic

The pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have caused havoc in the lives of rural artisans and weavers. With no orders, and massive stockpiles of inventory, their livelihoods have come to a standstill. NDTV joined hands with Habba, a non-profit organisation in India, for the Handmade Dil Se initiative. Handmade Dil Se is Habba’s attempt to bring back the demand for handmade in India and revive the livelihoods of artisans and weavers.

For the first time ever, Habba & NDTV curated a 2-hour telethon dedicated to artisans & weavers across India. This show brought together corporates, thought leaders and celebrities to show their support for thousands of artisans and weavers and boost demand for handmade in India.

Sanjay Purohit, Chief Curator of Societal Platform was one of the speakers on this program.

You can watch his talk on NDTV here.

This is an initiative of Habba & NDTV.
