The Idea of the India livelihood platform: Q&A with Prashant Mehra, Platform Commons Foundation

Prashant Mehra is a builder of open access digital platforms in the area of Livelihood, Education, and Civic Engagement, collectively called the Platform Commons Foundation. His chosen focus areas include smallholder farmer agriculture, community-owned supply chains, and involving communities in problem solving. Platform Commons Foundation is one of the co-creators of Platform for Inclusive Entrepreneurship.

In our conversation with Prashant, he tells us what inspired him to take a sabbatical and be out on the streets in the night picking garbage while building a livelihood platform. We go deeper into various nuances on the need for thoughtful rules and principles while designing open source softwares, and discuss what forced him to create platform commons license.
