Webinar | Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture

Earlier this month, NITI Aayog launched a public consultation on the draft DEPA. What are the important aspects of the bill? Where does this policy fit in? What are some of the concerns? How does it aim to provide individuals with secure access to their data and the ability to share it with third party institutions? How will it provide the tools and utilities that will enable us to build systems that can provide the user with mechanisms for protecting and sharing their data?

We invited Siddharth Shetty, Fellow – iSpirt Foundation, to walk us through the what, why & how of DEPA. Through this 90 minutes discussion, we covered:

  1. Purpose of DEPA & core guiding principles
  2. Illustration: manifested through a case study relevant to societal missions
  3. Address concerns around privacy, transparency and accountability
